From Monday 6 August, your Sky Living channel will become Sky Witness. But don’t worry – it’s still the US drama destination you know and love! After 25 years – yes really, it launched back in 1993 – there’s nothing wrong with giving yourself a new look!
And it makes sense, really. The name change has come about to move the channel away fom lifestyle and more into where its heart truly belongs… the US emergency room! And the US police precinct! And the US courtroom! Yup, it’s been raising our pulses with the likes of Grey’s Anatomy and Criminal Minds for many a good year, and it’s not about to stop any time soon!

If the works of actor Alan Cumming and author James Patterson make your heart race, than this police procedural is about to become your Thursday night delight! Based on Patterson’s novel Murder Games, it sees psychology professor and author Dylan Reinhart (Cumming) team up with NYPD detective Lizzie Needham (Bojana Novakovic) as they try to catch a killer, who appears to have used Reinhart’s own book as inspiration.

Everything powerhouse showrunner Shonda Rhimes touches turns to gold, and she’s got her hand firmly on a bible with this new legal drama. Set in the US District Court for the South District of New York, the show follows a team of talented young laywers – including Britt Robertson and Hope Davis – as they contend with tough cases and high stakes. McDreamy is back! OK, maybe not as you know him. Patrick Dempsey stars as Quebert, a literary giant who is accused of murder when the body of a 15-year-old girl is found at his property. Adapted from the best-selling novel by Joel Dicker and brought to us from the studio that brought you The Handmaid’s Tale, this has essential autumn viewing scribbled all over it.
