The Man Like Mobeen filming locations have been revealed
Mobeen just wants to be a good Muslim, raise his little sis and live a good life, but his murky past threatens to catch up with him.
Man Like Mobeen is set in the multicultural area of Small Heath, Birmingham and, while it’s riotously funny, it also tackles dark issues from knife crime to drug dealing. No wonder the show has achieved a cult following.

Since the show is set in Small Heath, many of the scenes were filmed in the neighbourhood, so you don’t have to walk far to find the locations. The recently closed Small Heath School on Waverly Road was used as a production centre. Many interior scenes were also filmed here. This building is Grade II listed. It was designed by notable Victorian architects Martin & Chamberlain, who built schools across Birmingham. They used intricately cut terracotta bricks, and these are well-preserved at Small Heath School.
Some exterior shots were filmed in Small Heath Park, formerly known as Victoria Park, an area of green space, trees, a lake and a playground. The park is a central hub for the community, hosting events like music festivals in the summer.
Some interior scenes were filmed in local houses to give the series an authentic feel. A house in Tennyson Road was used to create a bedroom for Eight’s grandfather Dadha. Dadha is a movie enthusiast and owner of the video shop, so the set was plastered with movie posters and videos as props. Tennyson Road has views across Small Heath Park. Lined with Victorian terraces, some of which have been split into flats, it is typical of many streets throughout the country. Small Heath was built as a housing estate for Victorian workers to escape the industrialised cities. These spacious homes are still popular with families.
Locals have also seen the Man Like Mobeen cast filming outside a house in Aubrey Road. Eagle-eyed viewers may spot this house where Mobeen sits outside on an abandoned sofa in season two.
Some filming took place just outside Small Heath, in the Balsall Heath area. Balsall Heath is an inner-city area of Birmingham. Until Victorian times, it was all farmland. The neighbourhood is full of beautiful Victorian and Edwardian architecture. One of the most recognisable buildings is the Public Library and Baths. This is one of the only grade II swimming pools in the UK. There’s a campaign to reopen the centre so the public can enjoy its unique interior.
