Virgin Media introduces Sky Cinema Downloads

1,000 movies on demand, from the biggest blockbusters to family movies

Love a good movie? From today Virgin Media customers with Full House TV, broadband and home phone with Sky Cinema added to their package can now download and enjoy top movies offline on their phone or tablet with the Sky Cinema app (on iOS and Android).


With over a 1,000 movies on demand from the biggest blockbusters to family movies, there’s something for everyone. Titles available for download right now or to be added soon include Sing, T2 Trainspotting, Fifty Shades Darker, Assassin’s Creed and The Great Wall.


Time occupied on the daily commute, or that hour mulling over the state of lunch, can now be better spent watching the latest thriller, drama or comedy.


While on WiFi or 3G/4G (charges may apply), customers simply pick the film they want to save and tap to start downloading. It’ll stay on their device for 30 days, and they’ll have 48 hours to finish it once it starts (perfect if life gets in the way).


Customers use their My Virgin Media to access the Sky Cinema app and start downloading or streaming their favourite movies on iPhone, iPad or Android phone or tablet.


Downloading movies

Customers can download as many films as they wish and watch anywhere, at home or abroad, even when not connected to the Internet.  Once downloaded, the title must be viewed within 30 days and customers can only download a film twice on their device.
