Changing the email address you use to sign in to My Virgin Media is easy. Just make sure you change it to an email address personal to you, and not an email address that belongs to someone else.
If you currently sign in to My Virgin Media using an email address that ends in @virginmedia.com, @ntlworld.com, @virgin.net, or @blueyonder.co.uk we need you to change this to another email address. This then means you’re covered for our latest security changes, including any updates that work to keep you safe online.

The email we’ll send will ask you to sign in to My Virgin Media and change your username from there. For more advice on spotting and stopping spam emails, head to our help page below.
How to stop spam emails
If you’re unsure if the email is genuine, don’t click the link in the email, and instead sign in to your My Virgin Media account yourself by typing in my.virginmedia.com into your web browser’s address bar. Once you’ve signed in, you’ll be asked to change and then verify your updated email address.
In order to improve security for our customers we’re introducing something called Multifactor Authentication across our online and app services.
This means that when you sign in and we need to verify your identity, we’ll send a one-time passcode to your email address to check that it’s you trying to sign in. You’ll then just need to pop in that code, and you’ll then be able to sign in and continue your journey.
Since we send this one-time passcode to an email address, for security reasons we need to send it to a non-Virgin Media email address. That’s why, if you use an email address that ends in @virginmedia.com, @ntlworld.com, @virgin.net, or @blueyonder.co.uk to sign in, we’re asking you to update it to a third-party email address.
It’s quick and simple to set up an email account through a trusted third-party email provider. You can set an email account up for free from providers like Microsoft Outlook or Gmail from Google, where you’ll be able to create an @outlook.com or @gmail.com email address.
You’ll need to use this email address wherever you use your My Virgin Media details to sign in, including My Virgin Media online, and any Virgin Media apps on your device, like the My Virgin Media app, Virgin TV Control app and Virgin Media Connect app.
Yes, you can definitely keep using your Virgin Mailbox.
If you access your Virgin Media Mail inbox through a third-party email provider such as Microsoft Outlook or Gmail from Google, you’ll continue to access those with no change.
If you sign in to Virgin Media Mail through My Virgin Media or via a web browser, you’ll just need to sign in using your updated email address as the username.
