Be honest: did you expect Nottingham Forest and Manchester Utd to be in the respective positions they’re in at this stage of the season? Forest’s ascent to the Champions League qualifying positions has been spectacular, as has the form of Chris Wood, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Nikola Milenković, Matz Sels and others. The freedom of the city can’t be far off for coach Nuno Espírito Santo.
Meanwhile, United’s change of manager part way through the season didn’t succeed in altering their fortunes, and results have continued to disappoint fans… although they have done better against teams near the top, beating Man City, drawing with Liverpool and Arsenal, and knocking the Gunners out of the FA Cup. Could their meeting with Forest on 1 April be the perfect opportunity to turn their form around? Find out live on TNT Sports, where this month’s Premier League games also include Everton v Arsenal and Man City v Crystal Palace.

Arsenal and Aston Villa progressed through the round of 16 with very few problems. Their rewards? Arguably the toughest draws in the quarter-finals. Arsenal will take on holders Real Madrid (somehow we don’t think they’ll be scoring seven in the away leg again) who are once again demonstrating a charmed Champions League life after VAR shenanigans in their shoot-out against Atlético. Villa, meanwhile, face Paris St-Germain, who left their league-stage struggles behind them and looked enormously impressive when knocking out Liverpool in the previous round. You can watch the quarter-finals, which also include Harry Kane’s Bayern against Inter and Barcelona v Borussia Dortmund, live on TNT Sports.

Rangers made hard work of the second leg in the previous round: after winning 3-1 in Istanbul, they went 2-0 at home to Fenerbahçe and needed a penalty shoot-out to progress – proof if it were needed that José Mourinho still has the ability to throw a spanner in anyone’s works. But they survived, and they face Athletic Bilbao in the quarter-finals where they’ll have to deal with the dangerous Williams brothers, Iñaki and Nico.
Man Utd and Spurs both had an easier time of it in their second legs, both winning 4-1 at home. Eintracht Frankfurt, who won this cup in 2021/22, are the next opponents for Tottenham, while United play Lyon. In the other tie Bodø/Glimt, who are establishing themselves as a European force after knocking out Conference League holders Olympiacos, face Lazio.

Football: UEFA Conference League
Having made it to the last two Conference League finals and lost both, Fiorentina have made the quarter-finals once again, where they’ll face Celje. After a good first half of the season including a run of nine straight wins took them into Serie A’s top four, their form has dropped off, but they’ll surely have enough quality to overcome their Slovenian opponents – notably ex-Everton striker Moise Kean, who’s finally found somewhere he fits in and has already hit the 20-goal mark this season. Chelsea, who despite erratic domestic form are the overwhelming favourites for this trophy, face Legia Warsaw, who needed extra time to see off Norway’s Molde in the round of 16.

Chelsea and Man City drew each other in the Champions League quarter-finals, leading to an unusual situation where they’re facing each other four times in a row: the League Cup final, then a WSL match sandwiched between the two legs of this tie. Chelsea must be favourites, since they won their group, are clear at the top of the English league and delivered a convincing 2-0 defeat to City in November, but City have the quality to spring a surprise. And although the winners are likely to face holders Barcelona in the semi-finals, City did beat them in the group stage, so they’ll both take heart from that.
In the other half of the draw, seeded Arsenal face Real Madrid (whose women’s Champions League record is nothing like as good as the men’s), while Bayern – without injured Lioness Georgia Stanway – have drawn Lyon. TNT Sports has every knockout match from the tournament, including the final on 25 May.

Football: Serie A
It’s been a rollercoaster for Napoli fans over the past few years, with a scudetto triumph followed by a disappointing 10th-place finish and the departure of talismanic players like Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia – and now they’re involved in an exciting title battle with Inter. Napoli were in the driving seat, with an almost unbroken streak at the top of the table from September to mid-February, but a run of five games without a win allowed Inter to knock them off the summit.
On 30 March Antonio Conte’s team will look to reignite their championship charge with a home game against AC Milan, whose hopes of a European qualifying place appear increasingly forlorn. You can see that game live on TNT Sports, and look out for more Serie A matches to come this month.

Football: Liga F
Since Barcelona decided to invest in their women’s side with the aim of joining the European elite, they’ve racked up title after title. In fact, since Real Madrid joined Liga F for the 2020/21 season (after the club took over the women’s side Tácon), Barcelona have lost a grand total of three league games. Real are now Barça’s closest rivals, almost keeping pace with them this season – but they’ve not yet achieved so much as a draw in the women’s Clásico. Could this game be the one? TNT Sports is at the Estadi Olímpic to find out.
And even if it’s another routine win for the Catalans, at least you get to watch superstars like Aitana Bonmatí, Salma Paralluelo and Caroline Graham Hansen in action – as well as Kika Nazareth, the young Portugal forward who gave England a torrid time in their recent meeting.

Football: NWSL
TNT Sports kicks off its 2025 coverage of the US women’s football league – inarguably one of the world‘s top club competitions – with coverage of the four teams who reached the final four of the competition last year. Champions Orlando Pride are away to beaten semi-finalists Gotham, while runners-up Washington Spirit host Kansas City.
All four will be aiming to repeat their play-off success, but if Spirit striker Trinity Rodman (daughter of former NBA star Dennis) can hit form, and with exciting midfielder Croix Bethune returning from injury, we've got a sneaky feeling Washington could go one better than last year. Check them out on TNT Sports, which is showing two live games from every round of NWSL fixtures this season.

Football: A-League Men
Western Sydney Wanderers might have timed their surge in form just right. After languishing in the lower middle of the A-League for the first half of the season, they went on a run beginning at the end of January that encompassed wins over Brisbane, Macarthur, Central Coast and Perth – plus a 3-3 draw that featured a 97th-minute equaliser from Sydney’s Anthony Caceres – and pushed them into contention for the play-offs (or “finals series” as it’s known in Australia). Nicolas Milanovic, Zac Sapsford and Bozhidar Kraev all contributed crucial goals, with the team particularly impressive in a 4-0 away win against the Mariners.
This month’s going to be a tough one, though, as they travel to New Zealand to face both Wellington and league leaders Auckland. You can see how they get on with both games forming part of TNT Sports’ live A-League coverage.

Football: A-League Women
After 19 of the 22 rounds of the Women’s A-League, it’s looking good for the two Melbourne clubs – Melbourne City in particular, who have been top for all except one week of the season. They’re also progressing serenely through the inaugural season of the AFC Women’s Champions League; in fact, as of mid-March, they haven’t lost a game in either competition.
Lower down the table, there’s a tremendous contest going on for the rest of the places in the finals series. Wellington Phoenix, City’s opponents in a live game on 30 March, could do their hopes a power of good with a win, while their home game against Central Coast on 22 March is equally vital for both sides. Canberra and Western United are both in contention as well, so there’s something riding on every live match.

Rugby Union: Premiership
)
It’s Derby Weekend in the Premiership this month, where every team will play against local rivals (or as close as it gets in the case of Newcastle v Sale). While Bath v Gloucester is always a hard-fought contest, there were few who predicted ahead of the season that it would be a top-of-the-table clash. But Gloucester, who’ve won four of their previous five games, have remained genuine contenders this year despite losing influential No8 Zach Mercer to injury. If they can down league leaders Bath at the Recreation Ground, it’ll shake up the play-off places.
The penultimate round of fixtures pits Gloucester against fellow top-four challengers Bristol, also live on TNT Sports, when either team could secure a semi-final place. Don’t miss any of these crucial matches.

Rugby Union: SVNS Championship
After visiting Dubai, Cape Town, Perth and Vancouver, the SVNS Championship arrives in Hong Kong for the next round. Argentina’s men won the last two events, knocking Fiji off the top of the table, and were particularly impressive in the Perth final as they crushed their hosts 41-5. However, Australia’s women performed much better in front of their fans, seeing off New Zealand by two points. Those two have won all the rounds between them so far, claiming two final wins apiece, making it hard to see past them when predicting a tournament winner.

Jorge Martín’s title defence got off to the worst possible start when he was injured in pre-season training, causing him to miss the first two MotoGPs of 2025. Marc Márquez took advantage in the opening round in Thailand, riding his Ducati to first place, followed in second by his brother Álex. Martín is expected to be back on the bike for the third round, which takes place in Austin, Texas, and he’ll need to get his own season off to a great start to ensure he’s not left behind. Motorsport: Rallying + Touring
After second place in Monaco and a win in Sweden, could this finally be the season that the British driving pair of Elfyn Evans and Scott Martin claim World Rally Championship victory? They’ve been runners-up four times in the past five years, and the prize that’s eluded them must feel a teeny bit closer after that second-round success. Next up, the WRC moves on to Kenya for the first gravel-surface stage of the season, bringing the duo a tough test: Evans and Martin have never won in east Africa, although they finished second here in 2022.
In Supercars, Cameron Waters got off to a flyer by winning all three races at the Sydney 500 (and scoring hat-tricks of pole positions and fastest laps as well). This month the action moves on to New Zealand and the Taupō Super 440.

Motorsport: Formula E Championship
Jake Dennis became Britain’s first Formula E champion in 2023 and this season Oliver Rowland is already staking his claim to become the second. He followed up his win in Mexico City with a second place and another win in the two Jeddah ePrix races, and heads for Florida full of confidence ahead of the next round.
His nearest rival is another Brit, Taylor Barnard, whose McLaren uses the same Nissan e-4orce 05 power source as Rowland’s Nissan car – and it’s serving them both well so far. But with three different race winners and seven podium occupants across the first four races, it’s an unpredictable sport, and there’s a lot of racing still to come… TNT Sports brings you the high-speed thrills from Miami this April.

The 2025 Motocross World Championship began in Argentina and despite the strong home presence in the field (13 Argentinians started the race), it was French riders who were the big winners. Romain Febvre scored a victory in the first race ahead of Maxime Renaux; they reversed positions in the second race, with Renaux taking the early lead in the championship by virtue of qualifying on pole. This month you can catch rounds four and five of the top-level off-road biking competition, both taking place at Italian circuits.

Leon Edwards is one of only three British fighters ever to have held a UFC championship title, so it’s fitting that he headlines the London Fight Night on 22 March at the O2 Arena. It’s the UK’s first UFC event since UFC 304 in July 2024, which was when Edwards lost his welterweight belt to Belal Muhammad, so the Birmingham man will be chomping at the bit to put on a good display against Sean Brady and get on a path back to reclaiming the title.
Next it’s on to Mexico City where a flyweight bout between Brandon Moreno and Steve Erceg is the headline, and then there’s a featherweight clash in Vegas as Josh Emmett takes on Lerone Murphy. Miami is the venue for a featherweight championship fight at UFC 314, when Australia’s Alexander Volkanovski and Brazil’s Diego Lopes face off for the vacant title. British fighter Paddy Pimblett is also on the bill for a lightweight bout against Michael Chandler.

White-ball cricket action comes from New Zealand this month, where the men’s team – runners-up to India in the recent ICC Champions Trophy tournament – face Pakistan in T20 and one-day series. Michael Bracewell has been named temporary captain for the home team and will hope to press his claim for a permanent role with some good results against Pakistan, who have picked a decidedly experimental squad and left out top batters Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam.
Their final three T20 matches will form double-headers with the NZ women’s games against Australia, as they complete the white-ball tour that began at the end of 2024 ahead of the Women’s Premier League. Australia won the three-match ODI series 2-0, so Sophie Devine’s White Ferns will be looking for an improvement in the T20s.

The Netherlands’ Mathieu van der Poel has won the men’s Paris-Roubaix race for the past two years – could he make it a hat-trick? Belgium’s Lotte Kopecky, a bronze medallist in the road race at the Paris 2024 Olympics, is the defending women’s champ. The NBA season is getting to the sharp end, with the postseason phase starting in mid-April – and TNT Sports will be there all the way to the NBA finals in June. The Cleveland Cavaliers and Oklahoma City Thunder are the teams to watch, both having maintained a winning record of over 80%, with the Cavs’ shooting guard Donovan Mitchell and the Thunder’s magnificently named Shaivonte Gilgeous-Alexander (aka “SGA”) the stand-out performers.
The New York Knicks and Boston Celtics have also confirmed their postseason slots, while the likes of the Nuggets, Lakers, Hawks and Bucks are striving to join them – all of which are featured in live games this month.

World Series champions the Los Angeles Dodgers got the new MLB season under way with a double-header against the Chicago Cubs in Tokyo, but the regular season fixtures kick in on 27 March when Milwaukee Brewers visit New York for a live TV game at Yankee Stadium. The Brewers, with their young Venezuelan star Jackson Chourio coming off a fantastic rookie season, have been tipped to win the National League Central division; the Yankees, runners-up to the Dodgers last season, look a little under-powered in the pitching department. Can they match 2024’s exploits against some tough opposition?
You can see both teams throughout the month, when there’s an abundance of baseball action on TNT Sports, with games almost every day – many of them starting in the evening UK time, the perfect time for British fans to enjoy them. Tune in to see how the teams are shaping up fo the new season.

Australian Rules Football: AFL Men’s
For nearly a hundred years Aussie Rules was based almost entirely in Victoria, until it expanded its borders to become the Australian Football League in 1990. The wider development has clearly been successful, as exemplified by the final four in last season’s AFL, of which only one of the clubs – Geelong Cats – was Victorian. The 2024 Grand Final was a contest between Brisbane Lions and Sydney Swans, from which the Queensland team emerged victorious to win their first AFL Premiership since 2003.
As the 2025 season gets going, the Lions remain many pundits’ favourites to triumph again, although the Premiership title is notoriously difficult to retain: only Richmond and Hawthorn have managed it in the past 20 years. There’s extensive live coverage of this exhilaratingly physical sport on TNT Sports every weekend during the season.
