The Premier League on Prime Video!

You can see Premier League action on Prime Video this December, including just after Christmas. Here’s your guide to which fixtures are on and when

By Simon Ward, Content Director

We’ve ticked off the last international break of the year, so the Premier League is back, baby. December is when it all hots up. Teams stand tall or crumble. Managers prove themselves worthy or prove themselves to be expendable. It’s wall-to-wall football, just the way we like it. This month, Prime Video is delivering with two massive matchweeks.

That’s right, you can watch every Premier League club in action, from Tuesday 3 December to Thursday 5 December. And then while you’re still digesting the turkey leftovers, you’ll get a second helping of top-flight football featuring all 20 sides from Boxing Day to Friday 27 December. Every team, every goal, every moment, live.

There are some plum ties to get the pulses racing. The first round of fixtures sees the first big test of Ruben Amorim’s reign in charge of Manchester United – who, at 39, is the youngest man in the hotseat since 31-year-old Wilf McGuinness back in 1969. He’ll travel south to face Mikel Arteta’s relentless Arsenal with the 42-year-old looking to use December to remount a title charge in his fourth full season in charge.

Elsewhere, it’s always hard to look past Newcastle v Liverpool when the fixtures are released. It’s a tie with goals, goals, goals – and sometimes a deflated manager hanging over the hoardings. Despite the Toon’s woes on the road this season, St James’s Park has remained a formidable fortress (even Manchester City could only claim a draw). Can Arne’s Slot machine march on where Pep Guardiola faltered?

There’s also a sizeable six-pointer at the bottom of the table as Ipswich host Crystal Palace. As we creep towards the halfway point of the season, it’s looking like a must-win game for both teams (or certainly a must-not-lose tie).

Then it’s onto Christmas – a time of the year when so many clubs at the top and bottom have slipped up. And the Boxing Day and 27 December ties see plenty of interesting dust-ups that, on the face of them, feel like no-brainers. But this time of the year does weird things to teams. Liverpool v Leicester, Manchester City v Everton, Arsenal v Ipswich. Bankers for the home sides or potential banana skins in the title race?

Perhaps most intriguing is Forest v Spurs. Which Tottenham will emerge from the tunnel at the City Ground on Boxing Day? Ange Postecoglou’s side were so impressive beating Man City and Villa earlier this season, but have looked poor on occasion, even losing at home to then-winless Ipswich Town. Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, have exceeded expectations this term under Nuno Espírito Santo. This should be good.
