Discover all the awesome ways Virgin Media is making your WiFi more reliable than ever
By Virgin Media
Back in 2019, Virgin Media raised the bar by launching Intelligent WiFi to provide you with a more reliable WiFi experience. Since then, we’ve improved it with a few nifty updates that make it even better than before.
Whether it’s more channels keeping you online, checking if your devices are properly connected, or analysing your WiFi use for optimum performance, here are all the ways it just got upgraded…
Keep more devices whizzing around faster
With so many devices using your WiFi at the moment, things can get a bit messy. So, we’ve added more channels to our WiFi to keep things ticking along smoothly for you. Be gone, frustrating WiFi dropouts!
WiFi that knows best
You might not realise it, but there are two WiFi signals in your home: one that’s great at connecting devices a long way from your Hub (at slower speeds) and one that’s great at providing blisteringly fast speeds when you’re much closer.
Our Intelligent WiFi now constantly checks in on all your devices to see if they’re doing okay. If they need a little nudge on to the best WiFi band, our smart new firmware will take control. This should give you a fast and reliable WiFi connection, especially if your devices move around a lot!
Getting you on the right frequency
Building on the original band-steering tech, this update analyses your WiFi use to help make sure you’re on the right WiFi frequency for your gadgets and devices.
In-home roaming
This slick new feature makes the most of our new Intelligent WiFi Pods to predict which is the best WiFi Pod or Hub to connect your device to.
