Holidaze
Find it on Love Christmas (CH 245)
We were delighted to watch this film with a familiar Christmas plotline – successful big-city businesswoman returns to her hometown for the holidays – as soon as we saw Beverly Hills 90210 graduate Jennie Garth in the lead role. But there are also a few fun twists and turns as she wakes up in an alternative reality, one where she never left home and married her childhood sweetheart, Carter McClure (Cameron Mathison).
A Perfect Christmas
Find it on Love Christmas (CH 245)
It’s Christmas, you’re newly wed and you want to impress your overbearing mother-in-law. Do you (a) lose her luggage, (b) mistakenly cancel the extended family’s hotel reservations so they’re now kipping on your floor, or (c) pelt her with an icy snowball? Well, if you’re Cynthia (Susie Abromeit, King Richard), you try all three in short order, in this lively comedy that ultimately celebrates the family ties that bind us.
A Rose For Christmas
Find it on Love Christmas (CH 245)
We love a Christmas romcom, and there’s cute chemistry here between Andy (Rachel Boston), who creates floral floats for parades, and demanding businessman (Mark Bendavid) whose company is sponsoring one of her ambitious designs. The problem? She’s only just taken over the float business from her ailing father and doesn’t have a clue where to start. Expect artistic differences, verbal sparring, and a LOT of strewn petals.
Marry Me At Christmas
Find it on Love Christmas (CH 245)
Private jets, Michelin-starred meals and adoring crowds… you might think that Hollywood star Johnny Blake (Trevor Donovan) has it all. But it turns out there’s a small-town-girl-shaped hole in his heart, and he’s about to meet a bridal boutique owner (Rachel Skarsten) who’s a perfect fit. It might take some time for the pair to realise they’re made for each other, but we’ll enjoy watching every minute of their bumpy path to true love.
Desperately Seeking Santa
Find it on Love Christmas (CH 245)
A shopping mall competition doesn’t sound like an obvious place to find love, but that’s exactly the premise of this sweet film about a marketing exec (Laura Vandervoort) who organises a “hunky Santa” contest in order to boost sales in a failing retail centre. Naturally, sparks fly between her and white-bearded victor, played by Nick Zano (2 Broke Girls) – but can the couple overcome a professional conflict of interest that threatens his family pizza business?
A Shoe Addict’s Christmas
Find it on Love Christmas (CH 245)
Sprinkle some It’s A Wonderful Life-style fairy dust on a modern Christmas movie and what do you get? This intriguingly titled film, which casts Jean Smart (Hacks) as a mischievous guardian angel who, with the help of some magical shoes, helps a department store salesperson (Candace Cameron Bure, Fuller House) re-evaluate what’s most important to her. This plotline alone would be enough to recommend the film to us, but there’s even more: Luke Macfarlane (Bros) as her love interest, playing a handsome, wisecracking fireman, no less.
Welcome To Christmas
Find it on Love Christmas (CH 245)
A shrewd, ambitious real estate developer named Madison (Jennifer Finnigan) finds herself snowbound in a small Colorado town named Christmas. For the local community, having a property expert stuck in their midst is a stroke of luck – they can launch a charm offensive to persuade her that Christmas is the perfect location for a revenue-generating ski resort. And it turns out that Madison is lucky, too, because their campaign puts her in constant contact with the town’s handsome and eligible town sheriff (Eric Mabius, Ugly Betty).
Double Holiday
Find it on Love Christmas (CH 245)
Rebecca (Carly Pope) celebrates Hanukkah but decides that joining the office Christmas party planning committee qualifies as another step on the corporate ladder. Getting to know her rival colleague and fellow committee member Chris (Kristoffer Polaha) wasn’t part of her agenda, but before you can say “mixing business and pleasure”, the pair learn to celebrate their differences and create some new holiday traditions. It’s a sweet romance that’s inclusive of both characters’ faiths.
A Blue Ridge Mountain Christmas
Find it on Love Christmas (CH 245)
Gorgeous real estate, winter weddings and romance come together in this film, starring Rachael Leigh Cook (She’s All That) as Willow, a hotel manager who is headed home to Virginia for her sister’s wedding. But when the wedding venue lets them down, Willow cooks up a plan to host the nuptials at the idyllic countryside inn where she and her sister grew up. First, however, she’ll need to charm the current inn owner, a widower and single dad (Benjamin Ayres), who is planning on leaving Eagle Ridge far behind.
It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas
Find it on Love Christmas (CH 245)
The rivalry is fierce between two neighbouring New Hampshire towns, never more so during the state-wide “Christmas Spirit Competition”. And this year, the stakes are even higher, as the winning town will be bestowed with a lucrative business investment. However, this fun film isn’t just about community regeneration and fabulously OTT Christmas decorations. The real draw is watching the bickering childhood friends-turned-rival-mayors, Liam (Eric Mabius, Ugly Betty) and Sarah (Tricia Helfer, Battlestar Galactica), learn an important lesson: that they have a lot more to gain by working together than apart.
