Legendary pop producer Pete Waterman meets the famous faces who share his passion for model railways and miniatures on More4

By Charlotte Briggs, Staff Writer

Another day, another celebrity once again proving that they’re just like us. While some weird and wonderful hobbies of the stars include Simon Cowell climbing trees, Beyoncé harvesting honey and Taylor Swift crafting snow globes, British music mogul Pete Waterman is a not-so-secret rail enthusiast.

Over the years, when Waterman hasn’t been producing top tunes for the likes of Rick Astley, Bananarama and Kylie Minogue, he’s been involved in several public railway ventures while amassing an impressive private collection of model railways.

And in an all-new series, Waterman zealously shares his lifelong passion with viewers and celebrities alike. He’ll travel up and down the country to shine a light on this miniature world while meeting fellow enthusiasts including musician Jools Holland, comedian Suzy Izzard, TV presenter James May and Status Quo rocker Francis Rossi.

Each celebrity guest will share their own mesmerising collections and unique tips and tricks about getting the most out of their pastime. While Holland gives viewers an exclusive peek at a personal project that’s been 12 years in the making, Waterman helps Rossi find inspiration for his very first layout.

Plus, Waterman is on an ambitious, one-man mission to complete a brand new model railway while juggling his own jam-packed work schedule. He’s taken on the mammoth challenge of building a gigantic exhibition piece destined for Chester Cathedral, with just six months to complete it before it opens to the public. No pressure then!
