Help using Virgin TV boxes
Just got Virgin TV and not sure what everything on the box does? Whether you've got Virgin TV 360, Virgin TV V6 powered by TiVo, a TiVo box or Stream boxes, we’ve covered all the useful information you need to know.
Virgin TV 360 and Virgin TV V6 box
When it comes to getting to know the TV box simply check out our helping hands videos.
From left to right, the buttons and lights on the 360 and V6 box are:
Channel Down (-)
Pressing and holding the Channel Down button can also be used to pair the remote.
Channel Up (+)
Pressing and holding the Channel Up button also activates Find My Remote.
Standby
The LED on the front of the box lights up white when it is on and blue when in standby. An amber light is shown when the box is starting up.
The sockets in use on the back of the 360 and V6 box are:
Coax connection
Connects the V6 box to Virgin Media
Audio
Not currently in use
HDMI
Connect the V6 box to your HDTV
Ethernet
Connect the V6 box to your home network using a wired connection
Digital Audio
For connection to an audio system
Power socket
Connects to the power adapter
Power switch
Turn the V6 box off, or restart it
Also on the back of the 360 and V6 box are:
Scart Out - not currently in use (between 2 & 3)
USB - not currently in use (between 3 & 4)
Virgin TV TiVo box

From left to right, the button and lights on your TiVo are:
Standby button
Turns the TiVo box on or puts it into standby. The green light indicates that the box is on. The red light indicated that the box is in standby.
Online LED
When lit it shows your box has access to On Demand and Apps.
Remote control LED
Flashes when the box receives a signal from the remote.
Home button
Press this to go to the Home screen and press twice to access My Shows.
TV button
Press this to watch live TV.
Back button
Press this to go back one screen while viewing a menu.
Navigational arrows
Use these to navigate the menus.
OK button
Press this to choose menu options or display the Mini Guide while watching live TV, recordings and On Demand.
Record button
Press this to record the show playing in live TV or to set up a recording from the guides.
Recording lights
These lights indicate that recordings are in progress. If one light is lit red, one recording is in progress; if two are red, two recordings are in progress; if three are red, three recordings are in progress.
Blue light
Not in use.
The sockets in use on the back of your TiVo box are:
HDMI
Connect your TiVo to your HDTV.
SCART
connect your TiVo to a SDTV.
Ethernet
Connect your TiVo to your home network for box to box streaming and to use the Virgin TV Anywhere app as an advanced remote control.
Optical Out For connection to an audio system.
Also on the back of your TiVo box are:
Coax connection
Connects your TiVo box to Virgin Media
Power socket
Connects to the power adapter
Power switch
Turn your TiVo off, or restart it
USB
Not in use
Smartcard slot
Not in use
Note: The back of your TiVo may look different to the picture above.
Stream boxes
The Stream box isn’t like our regular TV boxes, but more like a small device that connects to your telly through an HDMI cable. In your Stream kit you’ll find everything you need to get the Stream box up and running. This includes:
The Stream box
The Stream remote
A power adaptor to plug into the Stream box and a power socket at the wall
An HDMI cable that you’ll plug one end of into the Stream box and the other end into your HDTV
An Ethernet cable – The Stream box can connect wirelessly, but in case you’d like a wired connection, just connect one end of the cable into the Stream box and the other into the WiFi Hub
How to watch live TV
Live TV is anything that’s being broadcast live on any channel, right now. You can watch live TV using your Virgin TV box, or you can download our clever Virgin TV Go app and watch live TV on any compatible device.
Watching live TV on the 360 box couldn’t be any easier especially with the voice control feature.
To watch Live TV press TV on the 360 remote to start watching
To change channel press Channel Up / Channel Down on the 360 remote
To go to a specific channel, just type in the channel number or press the Mic Icon on the remote and say the name of the channel e.g. ‘BBC 1’
To see the full listings press Home then Guide or hold Mic Icon and say 'guide'
Watching live TV on the Virgin V6 and TiVo box couldn’t be any easier.
Getting started
To watch Live TV press TV on the remote to start watching.
To skip one channel at a time press Channel Up / Down on the remote.
To go to a specific channel, just type in the channel number.
To jump back to the previous channel press Last Ch.

The show you’re watching now will be highlighted in the guide, and you'll also see listings for the next two channels. Use Up, Down, Left and Right on the remote to move around the Mini Guide. Highlight a show and press to watch it, or set up a recording if the show hasn’t started yet.

Press Guide on the remote
Use Up and Down to go up or down a channel

Press Fast-forward or Rewind to move forward or back by two hours
Press Skip Back or Skip Forward to change the day
Switch to HD
If you are watching a channel in standard definition, but there is a high definition alternative available, we’ll ask you if you want to switch over. Press Blue on the remote to switch.
