Anyone can take out one of our Volt bundles and enjoy the benefits. 

Or, if you’re already with O2, you’ll get Volt benefits once you also take out an eligible Virgin Media broadband pack or bundle registered at the same address. 

The same goes the other way – if you already have Virgin Media broadband but aren’t with O2, you can take out eligible O2 Pay Monthly phones, tablets, or SIMs to get Volt benefits. 

Once you’re with both Virgin Media and O2, your Volt benefits should be applied automatically within 14 days – you can also activate them in My O2.  

All you need to do is take out an eligible O2 Pay Monthly phone, tablet, or SIM, and we’ll give you a broadband speed boost (up to 1Gbps), our WiFi guarantee which includes up to three WiFi Pods if needed, double mobile data on all eligible O2 plans in your household, and more.

If you’ve got our Virgin Media broadband service and someone in your household is an eligible O2 Pay Monthly plan customer, those in the household with an eligible O2 Pay Monthly phone or SIM, can travel around the world using their O2 phones or SIMs in 75 destinations at no extra cost, with O2 Travel Inclusive Zone* (if you haven’t already unlocked it).

There’s no upper use limit on data, but traffic management steps will apply. If you go over your allowance, you’ll pay the standard international roaming rates for the country you’re roaming in. Calls and texts to premium rate numbers and other special numbers are not included.

If you’re already with both of us, you can check your eligibility and activate Volt benefits in My O2.

If you’re new to both Virgin Media and O2, you can take up to 3 O2 SIMs as part of your Volt bundle, subject to a credit check. Each O2 SIM can have a different data allowance, so the choice is yours. 

Each SIM has its own data allowance which you can choose. 

Yes, you can add as many connections as you want once you’ve signed up. 

Yes, they’ll be packed with all your Volt benefits, including double data. 

When you upgrade or change a tariff on your O2 account, your Volt benefits will temporarily stop – but don’t worry, they’ll be re-applied within 14 days. 

If you leave O2, you’ll lose your mobile benefits, but you’ll keep your boosted Virgin Media broadband speeds. Likewise, if you leave Virgin Media, everyone in the household on an eligible O2 plan will keep their double mobile data until you upgrade – then, your mobile benefits will stop. 

If the address on your Virgin Media broadband account matches the address on your O2 mobile account, your Volt benefits will be added automatically within 14 days. This will happen unless you were already a customer of both before 18 October 2021. In this case, you’ll need to go into My O2 to activate your benefits. If they don’t match, you can edit your address in My O2 and My Virgin Media. 

Check out our postcode checker to see if Virgin Media broadband’s available in your area. If it’s not, you can register for email updates, and we’ll let you know when it’s ready.  

Virgin Media and O2 will contact you separately when your Volt benefits have been applied. These will come through at different times and could be on different days. Virgin Media confirmation usually comes after O2, and it can take up to 14 days for the Virgin Media broadband speed boost to show on your account.  

Your O2 tariff name won’t change, but you’ll see your new data allowance and any changes to your roaming Bolt Ons in My O2.

Priority is available to Virgin Media and O2 customers, and you can access it through the Priority app or Priority online.  

The first time you visit, O2 will ask you to register your details so they can confirm you have an O2 number or a Virgin Media broadband account. 

You’ll can also turn on settings like location services. That way you can see nearby rewards and perks at any time – we’ll even text you when there’s something fun near you we’ll think you’ll like. 


The legal stuff

Volt benefits: Volt benefits available if you have or sign up to both an eligible Virgin Media broadband service and an eligible O2 Pay Monthly tariff. Excludes Essential broadband customers. Excludes O2 Essential Plan customers.

Volt benefits include (1) A Virgin Media broadband speed boost to the next available level (up to 1Gpbs) (if your residential address doesn’t take or already have the fastest Virgin Media speeds available in your area at the point you place an eligible order or another eligible resident applies for Volt benefits; (2) Our WiFi guarantee with WiFi Max meaning up to 3 WiFi Pods in your home if you aren’t getting download speeds of at least 30Mbps in every room (subject to stock availability). If that doesn’t do the trick, £100 credit back. (3) Double the O2 mobile data for every eligible O2 Pay Monthly plan at the registered address of the Virgin Media account holder’s household (if you or any other eligible residents don’t take or already have unlimited O2 mobile data) and (4) O2 Travel Inclusive Zone so you roam in 75 destinations.

The monthly data allowance for your eligible O2 plans will be doubled for all tariffs up to 250GB. For all tariffs of 250GB and over, we will increase your data allowance to unlimited. This double data will not rollover. If your eligible O2 plan already includes unlimited data you will not receive an increased data allowance as part of this offer.

O2 Travel Inclusive Zone included for each eligible O2 Pay Monthly phone and SIM in the Virgin Media account holder’s name and address. Tablets excluded from roaming benefits. Our Travel Inclusive Zone also includes O2’s Europe Zone. Your UK minutes, texts and data allowances apply within the Europe Zone, however, if your UK monthly data allowance is over 25GB you’ll have a roaming limit of 25GB. After this you’ll be charged £3.50 per GB until you use up your monthly UK data allowance, you return to the UK or you reach your next bill cycle. Roaming subject to fair usage policy. WiFi Guarantee with WiFi Max: Available to Virgin Media residential broadband customers on M50 broadband or faster provided you are not taking services in any of our 2022/2023 network expansion areas. Existing Intelligent WiFi Plus customers will be individually informed when they are moved to WiFi Max. £8 a month add-on or at no extra cost for Ultimate Oomph, Gig1 and Volt customers. WiFi Max is only available to order once your Virgin Media broadband service has been activated. If you don’t get download speeds of at least 30Mbps in every room, if needed we’ll provide up to 3 WiFi Pods. If that still doesn’t do the trick we’ll give you a one-off credit of £100 off your next bill. Guarantee and eligibility for pods does not cover broadband faults or network outages.
