A new comedy from 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt creator Tina Fey, a dark new series starring Julianne Moore and Kevin Bacon and the return of two animated juggernauts. Yes, May is looking, erm, May-ty fine on Netflix.

If you have our Virgin TV 360 box, our V6 box (powered by TiVo®) or our Stream box, you can watch Netflix through your telly with our brilliant app. No need to huddle over that laptop! Netflix is included in a range of our TV bundles and is available to add to those that don’t include it.

Already have a Netflix subscription? You can transfer your billing over to Virgin Media to keep everything together in one bill without changing your Netflix account. Learn more here.

Got all that? Great. Here’s all you need to know about the best TV show and film releases on Netflix in May 2025.

The Four Seasons

Stream season 1 from Thursday 1 May in Apps > Netflix

Reuniting Date Night co-stars Tina Fey and Steve Carell, this eight-episode romantic comedy is about six old friends who head out for a relaxing weekend away only to learn that one couple in the group is about to split up. We then follow them on four holidays over a year to see how it affects everyone’s dynamics. Created and written by Fey and fellow 30 Rock writer/producers Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield, this looks brilliant.

Last Bullet

Stream it from Wednesday 7 May in Apps > Netflix

The final entry in the Lost Bullet saga brings its trademark turbo-charged action back to our screens for one final ride. Freshly released from prison, indestructible car genius Lino (Alban Lenoir, French Blood) is out to seek justice and settle his vendetta against Areski (Nicolas Duvauchelle, Braquo) and the corrupt commander who ruined their lives. But in this final chapter, old enemies must unite against a common enemy to survive and uncover the truth.

Forever

Stream it from Thursday 8 May in Apps > Netflix

Children’s and young adult author Judy Blume has written some of the most influential novels of the 20th century. But her 1975 book Forever… might be her crowning work. That groundbreaking book – once the second most banned and challenged book in America, FYI – has been reimagined by megaproducer Mara Brock Akil. Set in 2018 Los Angeles, it tells the story of two teens exploring romance and their identities through the awkward journey of being each other’s firsts.

Nonnas

Stream it from Friday 9 May in Apps > Netflix

There are few things in life as comforting as a home-cooked meal. When Joe (Vince Vaughn, Wedding Crashers) loses his mum and grandma, he decides to open Enoteca Maria, an old-school Italian spot that staffs four grans, or “nonnas,” from different cities in Italy. Stephen Chbosky’s moving drama about this real-life Staten Island restaurant is full of heart with a big cast including Linda Cardellini (Brokeback Mountain), Lorraine Bracco (Goodfellas) and Susan Sarandon (Thelma & Louise).

Love, Death + Robots

Stream volume 4 from Thursday 15 May in Apps > Netflix. Volumes 1-3 available now

We’d love to show you the trailer for the latest volume of mechanical mayhem, this time featuring T-rex gladiators and devious felines. But if you’ve seen any of the previous iterations of the animated anthology series created by Tim Miller (Deadpool) and executive produced by David Fincher (Mindhunter), you’ll know why we can’t. Jennifer Yuh Nelson (Kill Team Kill) returns as supervising director, with Miller, Yuh Nelson and Fincher all directing episodes in this 10-episode series.

Sirens

Stream the limited series from Thursday 22 May in Apps > Netflix

Julianne Moore (Mary & George), Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus), Milly Alcock (House Of The Dragon) and Kevin Bacon (Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F) star in this dark comedy series set over one explosive weekend at a lavish beach estate. When Devon (Fahy) tries to intervene in what she thinks is a creepy relationship between her sister (Alcock) and her new boss (Moore), she might have bitten off more than she can chew…

Air Force Elite: Thunderbirds

Stream it from Friday 23 May in Apps > Netflix

The Red Arrows represent the speed, agility and precision of our Royal Air Force. In America, that role in the United States Air Force belongs to the Thunderbirds. Formed in 1953, they’re one of the US Air Force’s oldest squadrons and one of the oldest formal flying aerobatic teams in the world. This new documentary takes you inside the unprecedented training, peril and personal sacrifice it takes to push the limits of these remarkable flying machines.

Big Mouth

Stream season 8 from Friday 23 May in Apps > Netflix. Seasons 1-7 available now

The hilarious (and very edgy) animated comedy about teenage friends who find their lives upended by the wonders and horrors of puberty reaches its, ahem, climax with its final season. Through it all, friendship is the cornerstone for surviving this time of life (as we all remember… fondly?). But how will our beloved Bridgeton teens tackle new challenges as high schoolers as they step into the harrowing unknown of the future? If it was anything like us: badly and with regrettable fashion choices.
