Got all that? Great. Here’s all you need to know about the best TV show and film releases on Netflix in April 2025…
Banger
Stream it from Wednesday 2 April in Apps > Netflix
The world of superstar DJs seems ripe for comedy, and yet we can only think of the 2000 movie Kevin & Perry Go Large which did a decent job of lampooning them. But with DJ names like Scorpex and Vestax, the new French film Banger understands the brief. When an eccentric agent from the French Intelligence Agency (Laura Felpin) offers a once-famous, down-on-his-luck DJ (Vincent Cassel) the chance to take down his younger, trendier rival (Mister V), he sees it as a chance to return to the top with a banger.
Love On The Spectrum
Stream season 3 from Wednesday 2 April in Apps > Netflix. Seasons 1-2 available now
If you liked Channel 4 series The Undateables, then you’ll adore Love On The Spectrum. Now in its third season, the Emmy Award-winning docu-reality series follows people on the autism spectrum as they navigate the world of dating and relationships. Telling the stories of unique and diverse individuals – including new romantic hopefuls alongside familiar faces from past seasons – this insightful and warm-hearted show follows the search for something we all hope to find. Love.
Devil May Cry
Stream season 1 from Thursday 3 April in Apps > Netflix
The hit Capcom video game series finally gets its long-awaited animated adaption, first announced way back in 2018. If you’re a fan of the game, you know it follows the hunter Dante, who makes it his life’s mission to avenge his mother’s death by killing all demons. With sinister forces at play at the portal between the human and demon realms, Dante (voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch) finds himself in the middle of it all, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck.
Pulse
Stream season 1 from Thursday 3 April in Apps > Netflix
An unexpected promotion after a colleague gets suspended arrives at the same time the hospital experiences a hurricane-induced lockdown. Sounds tricky, especially as these two doctors must now work together under the pressure of life-or-death stakes. To add further complications, the promoted Dr Simms (Willa Fitzgerald, Reacher) and the suspended Chief Resident Dr Phillips (Colin Woodell, The Continental) had a complicated and illicit romance, and the bombshell details of that relationship begin to spill out amid the unfolding disaster. In short: get ready for major drama.
Karma
Stream season 1 from Friday 4 April in Apps > Netflix
In the past few years, South Korea has become notable for producing edge-of-your-seat TV and movies in much the same way as Scandinavia has become synonymous with moody detective dramas featuring desirable knitwear. This latest crime thriller from the East Asian nation follows the lives of six characters whose fateful decisions plunge them into a relentless cycle of retribution. “Tense” is one word we’d use to describe the trailer. “OMG” is another (if you can call that a word). Squid Game’s Park Hae-soo stars.
Blippi’s Job Show
Stream season 1 from Monday 7 April in Apps > Netflix
If you’re looking for something to keep the kids entertained, then Blippi and Meekah are on a mission to learn about all kinds of jobs you can do in real life. From driving a monster truck to making pizzas, there’s no job too big or too small. If your little one is adamant they want to grow up to be a princess or a ninja turtle, then this might be the show that sparks a different kind of curiosity in the world of work.
The Clubhouse: A Year With The Red Sox
Stream season 1 from Tuesday 8 April in Apps > Netflix
The Boston Red Sox are one of sports’ most historic teams. This immersive docuseries pulls back the curtain to offer an unprecedented look into the personal and professional lives of the team during the 2024 season, providing a never-before-seen glimpse into the extreme demands of a gruelling 162-game schedule. Make no mistake: this isn’t some glossy corporate documentary. It’s an unfiltered, sometimes uncomfortable look at the realities of playing professional baseball in what proved to be a rollercoaster season for the BoSox.
Bad Influence: The Dark Side Of Kidfluencing
Stream season 1 from Wednesday 9 April in Apps > Netflix
Billions of views. Millions of dollars. Hundreds of accusations. This explosive docuseries goes behind the glitz and glamour to explore the shadowy world of child influencers and expose the dark realities of social media fame and the fight to protect the next generation of creators from exploitation.
North Of North
Stream season 1 from Thursday 10 April in Apps > Netflix
For a country that has given the world the likes of Jim Carrey, Mike Myers, Katherine Ryan and Seth Rogen, we can’t think of too many great Canadian comedy shows apart from Schitt’s Creek. Netflix’s first Canadian original series looks to change that, telling the story of a young Inuk woman (Anna Lambe, True Detective: Night Country) who tries to build a new future for herself after a spontaneous – and very public – exit from her marriage. But in a small Arctic town where everybody knows your business, it won’t be easy.
Black Mirror
Stream season 7 from Thursday 10 April in Apps > Netflix. Seasons 1-6 available now
What’s that? A new series of Black Mirror? No big dea… OK, it’s a massive deal. Charlie Brooker’s dark, satirical anthology series returns this April with six new episodes, including a sequel to the sci-fi adventure “USS Callister”. This season promises a mix of genres and styles, plus a stacked cast including Awkwafina (Jackpot!), Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who), Emma Corrin (The Crown), Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers), Rashida Jones (Parks And Recreation) and Will Poulter (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3). We can’t wait.
Pangolin: Kulu’s Journey
Stream it from Monday 21 April in Apps > Netflix
From Pippa Ehrlich, the Academy Award-winning director of My Octopus Teacher, comes another poignant film about the bond between animals and humans. It tells the story of the pangolin – a small, scaly mammal found in Asia and Africa that is among the most poached and trafficked animals on the planet – and a man who finds a new purpose when he helps rescue a baby one, Kulu, in a sting operation in South Africa. Don’t mind us, just silently weeping at a documentary synopsis, nothing to see here.
Bullet Train Explosion
Stream it from Wednesday 23 April in Apps > Netflix
In 1975, the Japanese movie The Bullet Train changed cinema forever – because it was the movie that inspired Speed, a film that reinvented the modern Hollywood blockbuster. This reboot of the OG film directed by Shinji Higuchi, known for merging spectacular visuals with human drama in works like Shin Godzilla, promises another panic-suspense thriller, depicting the intense struggles of those racing to save lives under extreme conditions. Hold on to your butts…
Carlos Alcaraz: My Way
)
Stream it from Wednesday 23 April in Apps > Netflix
With 17 ATP Tour-level singles titles, including four major titles and five Masters 1000 titles, Carlos Alcaraz has been a phenom since he broke into professional tennis at the tender age of 15. In 2022, he became the youngest man and the first male teenager in the Open era to top the singles rankings. He was just 19. As he embarks on the next stage of his career, this new three-episode documentary series follows Alcaraz during the 2024 season, getting close to the young prodigy on and off the court.

But with a new level of fame attached to his happily ever after, Joe’s perfect life is soon threatened by the ghosts of his past, and his own dark desires.
Havoc

Get ready for a high-octane action thriller written and directed by Gareth Evans (The Raid, Gangs Of London) and starring Tom Hardy.
