Reacher season 3: Prime Video’s gigantic vigilante returns to (literally) fill our screens

Devastatingly handsome? Check. Freedom to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants? Check. The ability to single-handedly dish out stone-cold justice through some of the coolest fight scenes on TV? Triple check. To put it simply, man-mountain Jack Reacher is the guy we all want to be. (Or at least the guy we’d want on our side in the event of trouble).

Inspired by Lee Child’s bestselling crime novel series, Reacher made its TV debut back in 2022 to critical acclaim and follows the crime-fighting escapades of ex-military cop and drifter Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson, The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare). In season 1, Reacher was arrested for a murder he didn’t commit before he uncovered a deep conspiracy. By season 2, Reacher had reunited with his old army unit to investigate the murder of his former teammates.

Now, after a year-long wait, it’s time for fans to buckle up for another revenge-driven adventure inspired by Child’s seventh book, Persuader. The latest instalment follows Reacher into the seedy underbelly of a deadly criminal enterprise to rescue an undercover DEA agent from a dangerous foe. Check out the explosive trailer below.

While most fights are easy enough for the gigantic Reacher (apart from the daily fight to pour his trunk-like arms into t-shirts), this season might not be such a cake walk. The former military operative must grapple with some unfinished business from his past while taking on powerful new foes including the formidable Paulie (Olivier Richters, Borderland) who stands at a colossal 7’2”. Looks like Reacher may finally have his work cut out.

Also coming along for the wild ride are Maria Sten returning as fan favourite Francis Neagley, Sonya Cassidy (The Hunt For Raoul Moat) as intelligent DEA agent Sarah Duffy and Anthony Michael Hall (Trigger Warning) as shady businessman Zachary Beck who Reacher suspects is involved with some nefarious dealings. Meanwhile, Brian Tee (Expats), Johnny Berchtold (Gaslit), Robert Montesinos (Father Stu) and Daniel David Stewart (The Fugitive) also star.

While the odds might look uncertain for our muscular, tight-lipped hero right now, the TV formula that made us fall in love with this series isn’t going anywhere.
