By Virgin TV Edit
Who doesn’t love curling up in front of the telly after a long day? Well, we’ve rounded up a few ways to help make your downtime in front of your favourite shows even better. Keep on reading to discover how to get the most out of your TV 360 box with these tips and tricks that will make searching easier, recording and watching a breeze, and much more besides.
How to make a personal Profile
You can’t get enough of true crime documentaries. Your partner is a dating show devotee. The little ones are hooked on Peppa Pig. If only there was a specific place for each of you to find the things you love to watch.
Enter TV 360’s personal Profiles feature, which you can use to create up to 6 individual TV profiles. This means that each household member can have a portal through which to make a beeline for their favourite channels, easily pick up a show from where they left off and be served with recommendations for their next big night in.
To set up a Profile, simply…
- Press the Profiles button on the side of your Virgin TV 360 remote.
- Select your Profile or add a new one by scrolling to New.
- To switch into another Profile, simply hit the Profiles button again and select a different Profile.
What’s more, once you set up your individual Profile on Virgin TV 360, your Profile will also appear on the Virgin TV Go app. That means your personalised TV experience will be accessible whether you’re at home or on the move.
How to work your Personal Home Screen
Once you’ve created a Profile, the Personal Home Screen on TV 360 is there to save you from an endless scroll of options. Continue Watching is your shortcut to the series you’re currently bingeing, but you can also browse your Watchlist. And if you’ve Rented a movie or want to scroll through your Recordings? Hey presto, they’re here too!
Our favourite feature? Plenty of personalised recommendations so you can find the film or series set to become your next big thing – and nary an animated pig in sight (unless that’s your jam, of course). For more on how to use the home screen options click here.
How to get your favourite entertainment on the go
With TV 360 and our Virgin TV Go app, you can take your telly out and about, too. They’re the perfect match, and you can sync your Profile so you can access your Watchlist and be served up personal recommendations even when you’re on the go.

How to use the Startover feature
This small-but-mighty function lets you skip back to the beginning of live TV programming. So if you miss the first minutes of the match, the film or the show, you can rewind to those crucial opening moments and watch the rest almost-live, without needing to resort to finding it on catch-up. Here’s how:
- Press the Guide button on your Virgin TV 360 remote.
- Select the show that has started using the arrow keys. If Startover is available, you’ll see the Startover logo next to the show’s title.
- From here, you can select to Watch live or Watch from the start.
How to use Auto-delete to make room for new shows
The Virgin TV 360 box has tons of hard disk space you can use to save up to 500 hours of standard definition content, but eventually, you’ll need to make room for new shows and movies. That’s where the Auto-delete feature comes in. Worried about losing your favourite recordings? Don’t fret – you can switch this function on and off, and we’ll tell you an easy way to protect your favourite shows.
The Auto-delete feature has been designed to be selective, choosing to delete from unprotected recordings, starting with ones that have been watched, from oldest to newest. If there are no more watched recordings to delete (and space is still required), unwatched recordings will be deleted, from oldest to newest. Shows or films you’re currently watching will not be deleted.
To turn Auto-delete on or off:
- Go to your Saved Recordings > See All list and select Manage Storage.
- For the Auto-delete when space needed setting, choose On or Off.
To protect specific shows from being deleted:
- When Auto-delete is turned on, you can protect an entire show, but not individual episodes.
- To do this, go to your Saved Recordings > See All list and highlight the show you want to protect.
- Move over and select the pencil icon (edit) to the right of the show.
- Highlight the Protect from auto-delete option and choose Yes (to protect) or No (to not protect).
How to start a show on one device and finish it on another
That short journey from sofa to bed after you’ve watched something on the telly is a bit of a drag. But thankfully, it’s super simple to pause in one room and pick up form where you left off on a different device. With TV 360, you won’t miss a moment, even when you start a show on your TV and watch the finale on your mobile in bed. Or spice up your household chores: once you’ve finished your TV dinner, hit pause and watch the rest of your show on a tablet while you wash the dishes.
Here’s how…
- Go to My Shows.
- Choose “Saved”.
- Find your show and choose “Continue Watching” to restart it.
How to get 4K-ready
TV 360 is totally compatible with 4K and HDR content, provided you’ve subscribed to the appropriate channels and have a compatible TV (see the manufacturer’s instructions to ensure you’re connected to the correct HDMI socket).
