In the first season of House Of The Dragon we were introduced to the now deceased King Viserys I Targaryen, who named his first-born child Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) as his successor to rule the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. However, Rhaenyra’s childhood BFF and Viserys’s scheming widow Queen Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) believes their eldest son is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.

What ensued was a bloody power grab that divided the Targaryen House into two: the black council led by Rhaenyra and her allies including husband-uncle Daemon (Matt Smith) and the green council led by the newly crowned King Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney), with support from his mother and the High Council. Oh, and the largest dragon in all of Westeros.

With the first season concluding in an epic dragon battle that resulted in the jaw-dropping death of Rhaenyra’s son Lucerys Velaryon, season 2 promises plenty more Targaryen tyranny, vengeful conflicts and shocking betrayals as the Dance of the Dragons civil war continues.
