SyFy is now Sky Sci-Fi!

Here’s the best of what you can watch on the shiny new channel, including classic films and new series FROM

By Laura Rutkowski, Senior Staff Writer

Calling all fans of science fiction, fantasy, supernatural horror and superheroes: we have the destination for you. Syfy is re-branding to Sky Sci-Fi from Tuesday 26 July and can be found in HD on CH 138. It’s had a serious revamp, and while it will remain your go-to place for sci-fi classics, it’s also going to be home to all-new series, including FROM.

FROM, which is executive produced by the creators of LOST and has already been renewed for a second season, will hit screens on Sky Sci-Fi’s launch day. You know when you have a strange feeling that you’ve been going around in circles? In this sci-fi horror series, that’s exactly what happens to everyone who enters a nightmarish town, which traps anyone who enters.

New arrivals, like the Matthews family, made up of Tabitha (Catalina Sandino Moreno, A Most Violent Year), Jim (Eion Bailey, Band Of Brothers) and their two children, are blissfully unaware until the rest of the residents fill them in. Local sheriff Boyd (Harold Perrineau, LOST), who is also the de facto mayor of the township, certainly has his hands full.

With an I Am Legend method of survival, they must bolt their doors and keep their windows shut at night… because that’s when the creatures that dwell in the nearby forest come out to play.

See what else you can get stuck into as hours of entertainment await – all you have to do is reach for the Sky (Sci-Fi)…
