All bets are off for Awkwafina after a lottery win gets her into a whole heap of trouble in Jackpot! on Prime Video

By Charlotte Briggs, Staff Writer

What would you do if you won the lottery? Travel the world in style, or take a well-deserved early retirement? Well, Katie Kim (Awkwafina, IF) is forced to go on the run instead after a dream come true quickly turns into a living nightmare.

That’s the premise of the newest action comedy caper from director Paul Feig, the mand behind the smash hit Briderobesmaids. In a not-too-futuristic Los Angeles, a Grand Lottery gives all its inhabitants the chance to win a multi-billion-dollar jackpot. But there’s a deadly price for those holding the winning ticket: to keep your prize, you must avoid being murdered before sundown. Yikes!

But it’s not all bad news for Katie. While avoiding the hordes of jackpot hunters she joins forces with amateur lottery protection agent Noel Cassidy (John Cena, The Suicide Squad), who promises to keep her safe in exchange for a slice of the prize. But with the whole of California on their tracks including Cassidy’s slick rival Louis Lewis (Simu Liu, Arthur The King), it’s not going to be easy.

With a stellar supporting cast including Seann William Scott (Role Models), Ayden Mayeri (Confess, Fletch), Dolly De Leon (Triangle Of Sadness), Becky Ann Baker (Girls), Donald Elise Watkins (Fly Me To The Moon), Leslie David Baker (The Office US) and Colson Baker aka musician MGK, we can guarantee that this is going to be one wild ride that you won’t want to miss. You can stream Jackpot! from Thursday 15 August on Apps > Prime Video.
