Out of their League

Out of their League

Get ready for sun, sand, surprisingly authentic costumes and super-sized challenges as A League Of Their Own: Mexican Road Trip comes to Sky Max

By Charlotte Briggs, Staff Writer

Pack your bags because A League Of Their Own is back for its eighth road trip series, and this time the gang are heading to the sunny shores of Mexico for an action-packed adventure. ¡Vamos!

Our team captains, long-term ALOTO resident Jamie Redknapp and former Lioness Jill Scott, will be leading the hilarious charge. They’re joined by team-mates Micah Richards, Mo Gilligan and Maisie Adam for a series of eye-opening cultural activities and exhilarating sporting challenges.

So, what’s in store for the crew? Beginning in Mexico City and ending in Baja California, the Red and Blue teams will be experiencing everything that Mexico has to offer. From joining the world-famous Day of the Dead parade and fighting at a traditional Lucha Libre wrestling event, to learning the art of Mexican Rodeo and shooting penalties in front of 60,000 footie fans, it’s a jam-packed itinerary from start to finish.

Of course, it wouldn’t be an ALOTO road trip without a terrifying forfeit for the losing captain. However, in a series first, the team that doesn’t earn enough points will be partaking in the punishment together, riding in a giant bungee swing across a desert canyon. Yikes!

Expect plenty of witty wisecracks, comedy capers and tequila as the six-part A League Of Their Own: Mexican Road starts from 9pm on Tuesday 21 May on Sky Max HD (CH 111).
