Oscar and Emmy winner Jamie Lee Curtis guest stars.

Find it in Apps > Prime Video from Thursday 12 December

Leave your cynicism at the door for this yuletide treat. After Santa Claus – Code Name: RED ONE – is kidnapped, the North Pole’s Head of Security (Dwayne Johnson) teams up with the world’s most infamous bounty hunter (Chris Evans) in a globe-trotting, action-packed mission to save Christmas. Special guests Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) and Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) also join in the fun to help evaluate the competitors’ showpieces. We’d happily make some of the cakes… disappear. Yum.

Smoggie Queens

Stream series 1 in Apps > BBC iPlayer now

This camp, silly, queer gang show set in Middlesbrough is raucously funny, telling the stories of primarily LGBTQ+ friends who hang out under the same roof. It’s unlike any sitcom you’ve seen on TV – there’s an entire episode that spoofs the movie Titanic – and yet it’s still a family sitcom like so many great British comedies. Although this family is a “found family”. Or to quote Sandi Toksvig: a logical family over a biological one.

Stream series 6 in Apps > BBC iPlayer now. Series 1-5 available now

Fresh talent. Epic challenges. An amazing opportunity. Rap legends DJ Target, Krept and Konan hunt for the next big MC to take over the scene – and to take home a prize pot of £20,000 and a mentorship scheme. But this contest ain’t easy. This has been an epic season of The Rap Game UK with shocking twists and blistering talent on show. But which rapper will emerge as the winner?

Nightsleeper

Stream series 1 in Apps > BBC iPlayer now

This high-octane, heart-pounding crime thriller takes place on a sleeper train (duh, it’s in the show’s title) travelling from Glasgow to London. Normally it’s a restful voyage, but when hackers send the train hurtling towards death and destruction, two strangers try to stop it before it meets its destination. Joe Cole (Peaky Blinders) and Alexandra Roach (No Offence) star.

Cheaters

Stream series 2 in Apps > BBC iPlayer now. Series 1 also available now

The first series of relationship comedy Cheaters back in 2022 felt like a hidden secret. Not just because it was brilliant with terrific performances from the likes of Susan Wokoma and Joshua McGuire, but its short-form 10ish-minute episode runtime made it feel snackable and moreish. Series 2’s episodes might be longer (although still only 14ish minutes), but no less delicious.

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl

Stream it in Apps > BBC iPlayer from Christmas Day

Wallace and Gromit are back with a new feature-length adventure. After a recent crime wave, Wallace and his pre-programmed smart gnome, Norbot, are the main suspects. But who could be behind it? Feathers McGraw – last seen in 1993’s BAFTA and Academy Award-winning short The Wrong Trousers – is back with a vengeance. Cue Gromit’s furrowed eyebrows…

A two-episode extravaganza that’ll make you want to head into the kitchen this yuletide.

Matt Baker: Christmas Travels With Mum & Dad

Find series 3 in Apps > Channel 4 from Tuesday 10 December. Series 1-2 available now

Try, if possible, not to watch this on your phone.

Seasonal favourites on the show will include “Walking In The Air”, “O Holy Night” and “River”. Plus, don’t miss Mika and Lang Lang duetting a Beatles classic.

Elsbeth

Find series 1 in Sky Witness on demand now

This spin-off from the hugely popular series The Good Wife and The Good Fight opts to break the tradition and lose “Good” from its title. It focuses on Elsbeth Tascioni (Carrie Preston), an unconventional attorney who works alongside the NYPD to help catch criminals. (And maybe with an ulterior motive.) With series 2 on its way, join the show from the beginning.
