Your Sky channel line-up just got bigger and better with the launch of Sky Max and Sky Showcase

By Virgin Media

Sky One is disappearing off our screens into the great digital yonder. In its place come two brand new channels, complete with the programming you know and love.

Customers with the Mix TV pack and above, and Mixit customers who take a personal pick (excluding Kids), can now watch Sky Showcase (CH 110) and Sky Max (CH 122) as part of your package! If you’re a Full House, Maxit or Bigger customer, you can also watch both channels in high definition (Sky Showcase HD CH 109, and Sky Max HD CH 121).

You won’t need to do anything to enjoy these great new channels – these changes will happen automatically on Wednesday 1 September. So you all need to do is sit back and watch. Speaking of which, here’s what you can expect on each channel…

Sky Showcase

Wolfe on Sky Showcase

Your new go-to place to find something new to watch, featuring the best curated selection of Sky programmes. That means the best of the best from Sky Witness, Sky Documentaries, Sky Crime, Sky Nature, Sky Arts, Sky Max (more on that in a bit), Sky Comedy, Sky History, Sky Kids, SYFY and E! It will also feature selected highlights from Sky Cinema and Sky Sports.

Think of Sky Showcase as someone who really nerds out on great telly and has put together a watchlist for you. This is curated viewing at its very best. And if you miss anything, you’ll find the shows in our On Demand area.

Sky Max

Introducing the new destination for the stuff you love, and your new home for Sky’s big blockbuster entertainment. That includes former Sky One favourites like original dramas A Discovery Of Witches and COBRA, or comedy panel shows like A League Of Their Own or the return of Never Mind The Buzzcocks. Basically, if you’re in the mood for entertainment, Sky Max has you covered.

If Sky Showcase is tempting you with something new, then Sky Max is all about feeding you the stuff you love.

What about the other Sky channels?

Sky Comedy has undergone a bit of a rejig too, becoming the home for Sky Original Comedy, meaning the very best shows from the UK and the US are all here. Shows include Code 404 and Hitmen Reloaded, which previously aired on Sky One, and it also features top US funnies like The Office USPEN15 and Miracle Workers. Plus, there are loads of brilliant Sky Comedy shows coming to On Demand. So if you love comedy, we have you covered, whether you watch it live, or at your convenience.

So remember, if you’re after a laugh, Sky Comedy is the place to go. Want blockbuster entertainment? It’s Sky Max. Can’t decide? Sky Showcase. It’s that simple.

And don’t worry if you don’t see your favourite shows listed here, as all current programming will still have its home on one of the other Sky entertainment channels. In fact, it’s never been easier to find what you want to watch. Love documentaries? Hit up Sky Documentaries. Love nature? Sky Nature will be for you. Something arty? Sky Arts. And so on.

On Wednesday 1 September, some of your Sky channels will also be changing places on the EPG and have new channel numbers. Click here to see the full updated list and download your new channel guide.

What will happen to Sky One series links and recordings?

For subscribed customers, existing Sky One recordings are unaffected. A series link on TiVo®/V6 set to “All channels” will find and record the shows in their new homes. However, a series link set for a show on Sky One will stop recording. For shows from Sky One staying on Sky Showcase, it will continue recording.
