Johnny Vegas leads an all-star cast in Gold’s killer follow-up to Murder On The Blackpool Express

Grab a life jacket and get ready for this new and exclusive UKTV Original…

Death On The Tyne, Saturday 15 December, 9pm, Christmas Gold HD (CH 124). Also available for 7 days in Catch Up > Channels > Gold

If you were howling with laughter watching Murder On The Blackpool Express on Gold last November, you weren’t the only one. It was the channel’s highest-rated show ever, winning viewers over with its mix of murder, mystery and – most of all – mirth.

All of which means making a sequel was a no-brainer. New and exclusive to Christmas Gold, Death On The Tyne – brilliantly scripted again by Jason Cook (Hebburn) – is a hilarious feature-length whodunnit that’s sure to be another massive hit with fans of British comedy this Christmas.

Terry (Johnny Vegas, Still Open All Hours) and Gemma (Sian Gibson, Car Share) of Draper’s Tours are back, taking the retired Mildred (Sheila Reid, Benidorm) and her friends on a cruise headed for Amsterdam. It’s supposed to be an adventure filled with fun and cheer, but things quickly take a turn for the worse when one of the crew members dies under mysterious circumstances.

But collaring the culprit is not going to be easy. The crew aboard the majestically named Empress Of The Tyne are what you might politely call a dysfunctional bunch – and they’re all suspects.

With the likes of Sue Johnston (The Royle Family), Georgie Glen (Waterloo Road), Don Gilet (EastEnders) and James Fleet (The Vicar Of Dibley) joining the cast, Death On The Tyne has more stars than you can shake a bar of duty-free chocolate at. But don’t just take our word for it, click/hover on the characters below to find out more…
